Erni Aladjai earned her degree in French literature from the Hasanuddin University in Sulawesi. She has worked as a journalist and news editor, and managed a learning institution. Her novel, Kei, took first place in the 2011 Jakarta Arts Council novel competition. Erni is also the author of Pesan Cinta dari Hujan (Messages of Love from the Rain, Insist Press 2010) and Ning di Bawah Gerhana (Ning Under Eclipse, Bumen Pustaka Emas, 2013).
