Afrizal Malna is an award-winning poet and art critic. Malna, who grew up in Jakarta, travels throughout the country frequently to participate in literary, poetry, and philosophical discussions. During the late 1990s, he collaborated with the Urban Poor Consortium. Malna is the author of a broad variety of critical and scholarly works. He is also a veteran photographer of contemporary Indonesian culture and those involved in artistic practices.
