Arswendo Atmowiloto

Arswendo Atmowiloto was born in Solo, on November 26, 1948. At the beginning of his writing career, he wrote in Javanese. He had produced numerous literary works; some made him the recipient of many writing awards. His experience in prison served as an inspiration to several of his novels including Projo and Brojo, several Christian books, numerous articles, and a collection of touching anecdotes called Counting the Days. That collection was adapted into a TV series and received an award at the Indonesian TV-Drama Festival in 1995. The following year, The Too-Early Verdict, another TV series he wrote, won the same award.
